I discovered quite early that I was ambitious and tenacious. That’s why I left home at 17, determined to make it. At the University of Puerto Rico, I worked as a bus boy and a waiter, and even cleaned bathrooms to put myself through school. I intended to become a special education teacher. Then I returned to New York City, where a friend offered me a job in his salon and helped me get into beauty school. Once I got my license, I developed a passion for Matrix and Logics. I was hooked! I joined the company as an Artistic Educator and worked my way up to Artistic Director. Today I feel that my life is all I ever imagined it to be and more. I’ve fused my two passions—education and hairdressing. I wake up every day loving what I do, and life just doesn’t get any better than that!
