Brook Thornley

The driving force behind Human Art, Brook Thornley is an author, award-winning cosmetologist and Master Educator for Matrix, a division of L’Oréal.

For over 25 years Brook has worked in the family’s salon and day spa, helping with the development of Human Art Design. Together with her husband, Rod Thornley, she cofounded Brook Design Company & Human Art.  She is listed as the inventor on the patent for Human Art.  She is the primary trainer for Human Art, traveling throughout the country and the world to spread the word.  In fact, she has been invited to attend the world-renowned Global Hair Expo in Australia in June 2008 as an emerging artist.

Brook has also recently gained recognition in the pageant world due to her work with Miss Utah 2007, Jill Stevens. She taught Jill Human Art principles while helping her prepare to compete for Miss America in January 2008, where she was a Top 16 finalist, as well as “America’s Choice.”

Brook was raised with the theory and techniques of this unique methodology.  Her family has devoted the last 30 years to teaching people how to find their own unique beauty through personal design. Carole Coombs and Donna Boam, pioneers in the field, passed their wisdom and advances on to Brook’s mother, Donna O. Kearney, who in turn passed it on to Brook.

Thanks to this wealth of shared knowledge, Brook can visually dissect a person’s attributes and measure amounts of each of the design elements in order to diagnose a unique personal profile.  In addition, she can teach others to do the same.
