Course Description:

Whether new to the industry or an experienced colorist, this comprehensive course covers core information that will allow the participant to master an understanding of color theory, designing with dark and light shades to refine facial shapes and how chemistry informs your product choices. You will also learn exciting new techniques to maximize your time and effectiveness in the salon--translating your inspiration into real world design!

Course Format:
Strengthen the skills that lead to success as a hair colorist. Improve your speed, precision and sharpen the focus of your artistry. During this course, you will focus on:
  • Awareness of all the factors that influence the choices we make before applying haircolor
  • Hair structure, level and porosity
  • Facial shapes and tone placement to complement or diminish features
  • Haircolor chemicals and how they work
  • Color theory and its influence on formulation
  • Selecting the right shade for any level or skin tone
  • Understanding of the concept of "contributing pigment" and how to control it
  • Working with resistant grey
  • Understanding the Color Wheel

  • Three general classifications of lighteners
