First of all, I love the smell and I really like how I can use half of the amount of product I normally use and still get a good lather. My hair feels really clean without having to shampoo twice. I didn't use the shampoo by itself, but the shampoo and conditioner together make my hair really smooth and I have noticed that my hair is not as knotted by the end of my 13 hour shift. (I received this product for free in exchange for my unbiased opinion.)

Beware of hair loss

I love Matrix products, so I decided to purchase the Food for Soft shampoo and conditioner. After using them, my hair felt soft and nice. However, I started to notice significant hair loss while washing it, and now I can see my scalp. I have no medical issues that would explain this change, and the only alteration to my hair care routine has been the introduction of these new products.
My hairdresser is also concerned, as my hair was fine, but I had heaps of it, and now I have hardly any. I have stopped using the shampoo and conditioner and am trying to grow my hair back. I'm very disappointed!

Horrible Smell

I bought this at my local salon because my hairdresser stated she had heard good things about it.
I can’t get past the strong scent. I’m trying to determine what the smell reminds me of the first thing that comes to mine is bug spray.

BEST Shampoo and Conditioner EVER!

[Employee of matrix] I heard about this shampoo, conditioner and mask on tiktok and took a leap and tried it. I have thin, hair and currently am using growplex to help regrow. I added this to my routine and my hair LOVES these products. I have ZERO fall out and my hair feels so soft, healthy and strong.
My daughter has think, wavy dry hair and these products has made her hair so hydrated and shiny.
We both love the smell as well!!! Thank you Matrix for this great product.

Hair falling out

I tried this conditioner only as I have never had a problem with Matrix products and the said results sounded great!
I started losing hair.. I was finding it everywhere in the house, in the shower, next to my bed etc. I stopped it and put it away thinking it I’ll go on some hair growth shampoo and conditioner which I stayed on for 12 months. My hair had repaired so just recently pulled it out.
I’ve used it once or twice and already I have hair falling out, lots in the shower drain. In the brush etc.
I’m so disappointed to think I could be going back yo square one.
Also, on a quick google asking if hair food causes hair falling, there’s sooo many women experiencing the same thing.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Heavenly scented soft manageable hair!

The scent is warm and heavenly, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH of this product line and I just wish they came out with more products using this particular scent! I was using a different product line and had to find something else, once my salon shut down. Those prices had gone up and the product quality just wasn't there anymore. I was desperate to find something different. I found the perfect product for my hair. Leaves my hair soft and smelling wonderful.
