Q: If using extra light blonde color and 20 developer do I still mix 1:1 or 1:2
3 days ago1 Answer
A: For most professional hair color lines, the mixing ratio depends entirely on the specific product range you are using. Standard permanent colors are typically mixed in a 1:1 ratio of equal parts color and developer, whereas high-lift or extra light blonde formulas often require a 1:2 ratio to provide the extra developer needed to fully activate the lifting action. Because these mixing ratios are formulated specifically for each unique product line, you must always refer to the instructions printed on or inside the packaging of your specific color tube. Using the incorrect mixing ratio can lead to unpredictable color results, under-processing, or scalp discomfort, so if you are ever unsure, we highly recommend consulting with a professional stylist.

Q: Is this a substitution for the Colorinsider 20 oil-cream developer? Can it be used the same way? Thank you

A: A standard cream developer is not a suitable replacement for the Matrix Colorinsider Oil-Cream Developer. Using it instead would likely lead to unsatisfactory results, as they are not designed to be used interchangeably.

Q: Can I transfer the developer into a different bottle for storage without the disrupting the longevity or results of the product? Or does it have UV or O2 sensitivity?
