Poor alternative to Beach Clay

Was recommended as an alternative to the excellent Matrix Beach Clay which for some reason has been discontinued. This product is nothing like that and a very poor alternative

I wanted to like this product because Matrix had never disappointed me in the past. I used the Shape Switcher Molding Paste religiously, but ever since it discontinued, I have yet to find a product that compares to it. So I decided to give the Over Achiever 3-in-1 a chance. I’m not a fan of the sheen look it gives nor the smell especially. It’s strong and gives me a headache and makes my stomach turn. It doesn’t even hold up my hair which isn’t surprising because I have thick hair. It’s like every other average hair paste I’ve ever used—disappointing.

Used this product to tame my fly always when I do low ponytails and it did an amazing job. Didn't leave my hair feeling crusty like some other brands I've tried and actually kept my fly always down while running around all day at work. The only downside I have to the product is that it's not as solid as I would prefer it to be. If you leave it on it side accidentally, all of the product will shift to that that side. Still would get this again!

Great for wispy hairs & curls

This stuff is amazing! It holds like a wax but doesn't go on like one. It's easy to use & I can easily mold curls & get rid of those wispy flyaways with it. It's also a great texturizer. I loved using it to try different hair styles - I get a lot of wispy hairs flying around when I put my hair up, this did an amazing job of controlling those without being heavy & sticky. It's easy to use which I haven't found with similar products. I will be using this often & a little goes a long way!!

Great for holding curls

My hair is super thick and does not hold a curl very easily but this gel has helped with that a bit! While my hair still goes back to its natural form after 24 hours or so and I still have to use the curl setting spray before I curl, I do believe it helps extend the longevity of my curls. It smells great, isn't too thick and is easily buildable into your hair.

The matrix over achiever 3-1; it holds my 3C curly hair without the make it stiff or crunching. It left my curls very soft and shiny. There's no flaking, and it keeps my curls' shape for a few days. The natural ingredients are vegan and no animals derived

The over achiever 3 in 1 works great if you have unruly hair and need to smooth it out and make sure it isn't going anywhere. This stuff will hold without a doubt. The only thing I didn't care for, is how super sticky it is. If you can deal with the stickiness of it then it's perfect. Did I mention it also smells amazing!

Great 3-in-1 product. I used this on wet hair and it leaves my hair looking so styled with great volume. It did not leave my hair feeling sticky or greasy, and I love that I only need a small amount of product to get big results. This is my new favorite every day product!

No residue or white stuff

My biggest problem with spray in dry shampoos is the gross feeling residue in my hair, transferring it to my brush, and showing up white at my roots. This matrix dry shampoo did NONE of those thank goodness. It doesn't smell bad but it smells like hair product. I wear perfume anyway so that kind of smell isn't a concern. It's not a strong fragrance anyway. Perfect for refreshing my hair after skipping one too many days of washing and adding volume at the roots.

Loved the same product received complimentary, perfect timing for the new year look. The overachiever helped me set the look quick and the result was long lasting and on spot. The application is simple i used hands and comb to layer it , tiny amount was enough. The hair felt natural and not heavy as other gel. Would highly recommend.

I really wanted to like Matrix Overachiever Three in One for Structuring and Smoothing paste. The smell is clean and lush and bright. The feel of the paste is silky and yes, very sticky. Washes off of hands better than others I've used. With my coarse and curly hair, and perhaps just general dislike of this type of sticky hair product I felt anxious putting it on. It makes my hair tacky, hard and impossible to run fingers through.
My husband, who uses a different brand paste felt that this one would be a good substitute as needed. He prefers his brand as he is a loyalist and will only switch products if they're no longer available, but will put this one in future consideration if needed.

I'm so EXCITED to have been introduced to the Matrix Overachiever 3 in 1 ! I've been on the hunt for awhile now to find a product that gives the right amount of hold that my teenager's hard to manage hair needs. It has so many uses! He LOVES it! We love the scent as it's not too overpowering, the eye catching packaging and that it has salon like quality! I will be repurchasing as soon as we run out of this new staple haircare product! It's an absolute winner for the ENTIRE family!
