How To Use
- Shampoo. Rinse. While wearing gloves, apply to wet hair avoiding scalp area. Process up to 5 minutes, depending on desired cooling effect. Rinse thoroughly. Style hair as usual. Use weekly.
- Designed for levels 1-4, Dark Envy should not be used on white or grey hair as it can cause this hair to take on a greenish hue. This also includes any hair that has been lightened to level 5 or lighter with color, lightener or the sun.
- Using the Dark Envy Shampoo and Mask- Results may vary depending on the porosity of hair. Always wear gloves & avoid the scalp as it can potentially cause staining.

The hair mask saved my hair !

I love the hair mask so much, as well as the shampoo and conditioner. It really helped me get the true black hair I wanted without the hassling of always dying my hair. It was easy and made my hair soft as well. I’m honestly sad to see it’s been discontinued while I’m looking to buy more. I hope you have come back with a similar product or start to produce them again. I really do love this product !! Especially the hair mask

I bought it because i had light brown hair with a few grey's starting to grow and I decided to paint it with a tone that contains caoba pigments .... my hair was a mess Horrible. What can i do? instead of painted again with a green tone first i get the chance to the shampoo and voilà !!! this is the second time i used it and slowly the red tones are starting to neutralize , and i am very happy they save my hair !

This is the second time I used the dark envy mask on my hair. First time it worked fine. However, this time parts of my hair are greenish brown. Thinking that I didn't get it all washed out, I washed and conditioned my hair with regular shampoo. Still have dull green-brown hair

Great mask for blue-black hair!

I got this mask on the recommendation of my colorist. I already get sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner so I thought I’d try the mask. My hair looks like it was freshly dyed and it really helps to take the red out! It looks gorgeous so I’ll definitely be using this mask once a week! I was skeptical about how well it would work so I’m definitely surprised:)

doesn't do anything!

I have used this a handful of times, and notice no changes in the tone of my hair. It dyes my scalp and hands blue! I'm sad because I had high hopes for this product.

Love how well it neutralizes brass and red tones in my dark hair.The only cons about this is can be quite drying to the scalp.Id recommend rubbing the scalp with some castor oil of you plan on using this after you rinse.

Love this stuff the only negative thing I have to say is it leaves your hands alittle gray. Other than that I love it. I have dark brown hair I usually dye my hair black once every 5 months. I feel like these products are keeping my hair dark and gorgeous:)

I received this product in a voxbox from influenster. Unfortunately I wasnt very impressed. My main plus is that it leaves the hair feeling soft, but did notice my hair was frizzier than usual. However I didnt notice any improvement in the undertones of my hair, instead all I got was a green scalp. Overall this mask leaves much to be desired.

This is a really good mask for color treated hair. It hydrated the hair and makes it really soft and silky. But this mask doesnt really do much with the undertones and red tones of your hair. For me I didnt notice a difference but this mask is great for hydration in my opinion. But make sure to use gloves and not get it on your skin because it does leave stains everywhere!

I received this product from influenster.
Pro: does what it says at neutralizing red and lasts fairly long (it still is not worth it)
Con: Found it too stripping to the hair, stains your scalp and bathtub- they did claim that staining will occur so wear gloves, although it did what it claimed, the effects were too strong for my hair (you kind of have to test it out on your hair to see how long you leave it on for to figure out when to rinse at the color you want)
Overall: unnecessary, drying, if you want to tone redness in dark hair, go to a hairdresser or professional because they know how to properly do it and restore the hair afterwards

I enjoyed the smell of this just like the shampoo and conditioner but had no difference in the red tones in my hair. So, I was disappointed. This stuff works! But make sure you follow the directions. It does stain. So you want to be sure to avoid the scalp. I personally had someone help me to ensure I didnt get it everywhere. But I noticed a difference in two weeks. So if youre looking for a way to lose the reds in your hair, this is it.

I really enjoy using this hair mask. It leaves my hair feeling so soft and healthy afterwards. I don't really like how it is highly pigmented. It didn't turn everything blue, and was easy to wash out, but for extra precautions I did use gloves. I will definitely continue using this product!

This product is great. This is straight up a hair color deposit. You have to use gloves it will stain your nails and hands and possibly your white tub. However its a great product to use to avoid having to reapply hair dye! Loved it smells amazing. I will definitely buy!

The hair mask is my favorite product of the products in this line. It has a nice scent and dont see the need for improvement. Keep in mind my hair type is long, wavy, and with an oily scalp. I love this product.

An awesome mask for making the hair neutralize the color like if you have reddish or light brown tint and your natural hair is black, the mask makes all the hair even color.

This hair mask is exceptional. It really did deposit a purple tint to the hair. I have bleached tips on my long dark hair and they turned a blueish purple after using the mask for one day. I took the precaution of using gloves while using the mask and I am glad I did. The color gets deposited and stays until the next wash. Honestly, 5 stars.

Overall I had high expectations for this shampoo. But it wasnt everything it is hyped up to be. It colored my bath tub more than my hair. I might have seen the slightest difference but not much. I have very thick wavy hair and I am unsure if that plays a part in it. I would not purchase this item. I appreciated the opportunity to try it but unfortunately it didnt work for me.

I have been looking for a cooling product for dark hair so I was ecstatic to receive the Matrix Dark Envy system complimentary through Influenster. Especially since this mask really truly works! They aren't kidding when they tell you to use gloves - my hands looked like I'd strangled a Smurf for a day and I had to wash the mask out of my shower with soap, not just rinse with water, but it's so worth it for the instant cooling effect. Surprisingly it didn't leave any color on my towel even though coloring my hair usually does. I wasn't sure if I should use the conditioner after the mask. I did and that worked well, but the mask itself doesn't seem hydrating enough for my dry hair. With the conditioner my hair felt perfect. Honestly, I'd highly recommend this mask!

Ultimately this was an okay product, however I never feel like I have sufficient time to review things before Im required to write a review. I havent tried this enough times to really give it a proper review but mixing it with the shampoo and conditioner did add a sheen and keep the darkness quality up. Ill keep using it as well as the shampoo and conditioner and hope the products dont upset my hair tone in the long run too much. I havent been using the three products long enough or stopped to see how the results wear off.

received this DARK ENVY products complimentary from Influenster for
testing purposes. My daughter has a natural brunette hair, so she tried these products
for couple of weeks. (My hair is blonde right now) Weve tried for more than 2 weeks and heres my thoughts.
My daughters hair is a warm/reddish brown and this mask helped to make her hair incredibly soft, shiny, and healthier look! (picture shown)
I really like how it will tint a little darker, cooler, bit not too dark.
We were a bit nervous to use this because of the color (green!) and we thought it'll be very messy. It definitely will stains my finger tips, sink and/or tub (it turns gray) , so I wear globes every time when I use these products.
Surprisingly, these products rinse very well and it does not get on the towels.
To avoid staining your hairline, I use a tiny amount of vaseline.
Overall, we really like this toning mask!!

Ive used this MATRIX toning mask once and had great results. It naturally dyes my hair eliminating all the red undertones and intensifying my natural black color. Its much more gentle than regular dyes and it doesnt dry my hair. Ive been also using the same MATRIX shampoo and conditioner and the whole combo works perfectly. My hair looks much deeper, darker and shinier.

I really enjoyed using this product overall, it left my hair shiny with a nice color and made my hair really soft. The only downfall I had with this is it stains your hands, so would recommend using gloves to apply it. Overall I really love the results it has gave my hair.

This was a nice hair mask, I dont really use any so it was an interesting first experience kind of. It did again my hands but thats my fault so I do recommend do wear some gloves ! It did do what it stated it would do, it had a nice cooling affect on your scalp. It smelled just as good as the other products :)

Like the shampoo and conditioner, the good scent is carried over into this product. My hair is black naturally, so I didnt see much of a change. But, the way it made my hair feel is good for me. It felt so soft after I washed it out after 5 mins. My curls felt so soft and moisturized. I will use the hair mask just for that. But it does stain the hands even though I used gloves.

I have used many hair masks over the years for my very long very thick curly hair. This one though made a huge difference in how my hair felt in the end and looked so amazing. It restores my dark hair with out dying it and once a week lasts the entire time if not longer. Will buy more when I run out!

I have naturally light brown hair with red undertones. Ive had it done dark brown for years and always had an issue with my natural red coming through. This product is so messy. The formula is dark green and very runny. It stained my hands and shower. Be sure to be really careful when using this product. Ive been using it in combination with the shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks. It really does deposit color and keep my hair from turning red, but it will stain your whole life! Be really careful not to get it in your scalp. I also recommend using conditioner after this mask because its not moisturizing at all.

This was the most interesting and intriguing of all the products in this set! I was surprised that it washed out purple as I absolutely was not expecting that! I couldn't help but to wonder if I had done something wrong but in looking into it, I found that it's supposed to do this! This left my hair feeling great! It smells amazing too! I'm really happy with this!!!

Was excited to try this neutralization toning hair mask. The smell wasnt as nice as the shampoo and conditioner. It left my hair feeling very dry. It does tone down the red but it was just to harsh for my hair.

I have honestly never used a hair mask, but this one is nice. Pairing this with the shampoo and conditioner really helps with having the red tones in your hair not be overpowering. I would recommend this mask to others. I feel like the mask is not too thick, but not too thin. I just wish that it wouldnt stain your roots, thats the only problem that there seems to be with this hair mask, but other then that this hair mask is great. All 3 of the Matrix Dark Envy Red products work great

I've never used a hair mask like this so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I'm not too impressed. The mask will stain so make sure you wear gloves and don't leave it sitting on a surface or it may stain that as well. I didn't really notice much color change in my hair after using the 3 step system twice. But I do I have dandruff and it stained it a blue color, so it does change the color of that (which is not what I wanted) So just a warning if you also have dandruff. I don't know if it was the mask or the shampoo, but something left my hair feeling kind of dry. Overall I didn't notice I major color change in my hair using all 3 products so I probably not re purchase but will use it until it runs out.

Matrix Dark Envy Red Neutralization Toning Hair Mask works nicely compared to others. It has a fresh minty feel and doesn't have a hair dye smell, which is good. I don't know about noticing color changes in my hair, but I did feel my hair softer, smoother and just healthier looking overall. It's best when you pair it with the shampoo and conditioner.

I received this for free from influenster. I recommend this if you want to make your hair darker or enrich the color of your hair. However this only really works for people with dark brown hair and it doesnt really make your hair softer. I dont really recommend i feel like there are better hair masks out there but if you want darker hair i recommend.
