Q: Can I use 20 volume in place of 22 promoter?
3 months ago1 Answer
A: We strongly recommend against substituting a standard 20 volume developer for the 22 volume promoter specifically designed for the Lift and Tone system. This professional range is engineered as a three-part synergistic system—consisting of the powder, the promoter, and the toner—where each component is chemically calibrated to ensure precise lift and neutralization simultaneously. Because the 22 volume promoter (6.6%) is specifically formulated to activate the high-speed lifting agents and pigments in this system, using a standard 20 volume developer could lead to unpredictable results, such as insufficient lift, patchy toning, or an incorrect consistency that may affect the safety and quality of the application.
