Protects your ends

The Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Billion Bond Oil is a good addition to my after shower routine. Best if focused on the length of my hair and the ends for helping create a smooth finish. One small pump is enough then I let my hair air dry, the ends feel protected if I finish with a heat iron. I’ve found it’s best when not used too close to my scalp or it does have my hair looking oily in a few hours. Stick to the ends for sure.

The Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Oil

The Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Oil is honestly a standout if your hair is feeling damaged, dry, or over-processed. It has a lightweight, silky texture that doesn’t weigh the hair down, yet still delivers noticeable smoothness and shine right away. I love how it helps tame frizz and makes the ends look healthier without leaving that greasy residue some oils do. With continued use, hair feels stronger and more manageable, especially if you’ve had color or heat damage. Plus, the scent is clean and salon-like, which makes it feel a little luxurious every time you use it. Overall, it’s a great finishing product for anyone looking to repair and protect their hair while keeping it soft and glossy.

I am a big K18 fan so I was very interested to see how this measured up, it’s so lightweight so it doesn’t weigh down my hair, my ends feel healthier and even though this isn’t as important as the actual product the packaging is fantastic, the glass bottle and pump top is easy, mess free and feels high quality. I also love the very faint clean scent, not too overpowering but fresh and clean.

Nice and lightweight

I’ve been using this bond oil for a few weeks now and I really am impressed with how lightweight it is while still making a difference in my hair. The texture is super silky and not greasy at all. You only need a small amount. The scent of vibrant lemon and peony smells like you came from the salon. What I really like is that it doesn’t just sit on top of my hair. My hair actually feels softer over time. Less frizz more shine and not just temporarily coated. The only downside is the price point if I had to repurchase regularly, but honestly for how well it performs, I might consider it, especially on a sale. Overall this is definitely worth trying.

This hair serum has a vibrant lemon and sweet peony scent which I dont mind. Definitely recommend this product. A little goes a long way it should last you a few months.

Unsure at first but now I really like

I wasn't sure that I was going to like this product upon first using it, but so far I actually really like it. Silly, but the bottle is cute! I like the pump on top, it's very easy to use and dispenses the appropriate amount. I don't care for the smell a whole lot, but I guess I wouldn't say it's offensive. It's also kind of tacky or maybe sticky, so I wasn't thrilled about the texture, but once I use it, I simply wash my hands and eventually the texture of my hair feels normal again. I've been using this a couple times a week on just damp hair and my ends literally look like I have just gotten a fresh haircut!

Not a bad binding oil. I prefer some of my other ones over this one. Nice smell but a bit of an oily feel and packages is mid tier at best. Results are okay.

Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts on our binding oil. While we're pleased to hear you enjoyed the scent and saw okay results, we’re sorry to hear the texture felt a bit heavy and the packaging didn't meet your expectations. We strive for a premium experience in both formula and design, so your feedback on the "mid-tier" feel is incredibly helpful. We have shared your comments with our packaging and product development teams for future improvements.

Great for thick coarse hair

First the packaging - super luxe and glass with a pump that you twist to close. The texture is almost a hybrid of an oil + a gel without a sticky residue feel afterword and thicker than most oils. This is great for my thick, course curly hair. I think it might be too heavy for thinner hair or those who have greasy hair/scalp. You can see in my pic that my hair was fuzzy looking after I let it air dry without product. I smoothed this over from the mid to ends and it helped seal it and bring out smoothness and shine. I would recommend for someone with my hair type.

Nice, but the scent is strong!

This is a new product to me, I was excited to try it. The oil wasn’t super heavy and blended into my hair nicely. It does have a strong artificial floral small that can be overwhelming if you’re sensitive to smells. It didn’t weight my hair down, I didn’t notice a lot of difference on the shine of my hair. I liked the glass bottle, but the fact you have to shake it repeatedly to activate it was annoying, especially trying to be careful you don’t drop it. The plastic pump was underwhelming as well. Overall, I think it’s a decent product and I’ll keep working with it to see how it works.

I really like this serum from Matrix. The scent reminds mime of being fresh out of the salon. It leaves the hair soft without being greasy, and protects it during the use of heat products. It’s a bit pricey for a bottle, but fortunately, it does last a while as you only need one or two pumps to cover your hair. I prefer using it while my hair is damp, and let it dry. It comes in a pretty pink pump bottle and the instructions for use are easy to follow. It stores easily right on my counter for grab and use accessibility while keeping my hair soft and protected. . I really like it!

Matrix Instacure bond oil is perfect for my chemically treated hair. Its packaging is sleak with the perfect pump dispenser so that I can take it on the go. It helps maintain the health and brilliance of my highlights without being heavy and oily. It has a pleasant smell and really seals my ends preventing breakage and frizz. 2 pumps is all that I need for perfectly healthy looking locks! will definitely be using from now on! Fantastic product.

I’m a BIG fan of matrix products and I knew this bonding oil wouldn’t disappoint me. It’s lightweight, not overly “greasy” like some hair oils feel, and REALLY helped to smooth out my hair especially my ends. I can really feel it strengthening my hair use after use. The smell lasts for DAYS and always has me feeling like I just left the salon. The bottle seems small but a little truly goes a long way.

I have fine hair and this oil doesn't weigh it down at all. I apply it before heat because it's also a heat protectant. Then I go in with it again to break the curl cast. Buy it! Buy it now! I have never been more impressed by a hair product ever. This oil makes your hair feel professionally treated, I used it on wet hair and made my hair so smooth and silky. Whenever I decide to style it and straighten it, my hair comes out so soft and straight. Also not oily at all, it says it’s an oil but you can apply a lot and its still not oily. Definitely recommend %100!

Silky smooth!

This bond oil/serum is soooooooo good! It makes your hair so silky soft that you can't even believe it's real! It's purpose is to strengthen very damaged hair (so if you use styling tools often, or color your hair often) by nourishing it and bonding it, and to be honest, my hair isn't very damaged but it still makes it very nourished and silky smooth. I've also been letting my husband use it (who has very long, course, thick hair... Which is the opposite of me) since he does actively style his hair often. He has naturally curly hair so he has to use a straightening iron every day, and uses a lot of product which CAN strip your hair. Even he has noticed a huge difference in how smooth his hair is, however there was a drawback he saw. While you can use it with your hair wet or dry, it seems to make his hair frizz a lot more if he uses it wet, rather than dry. So keep that in mind! You also don't need a lot of the product when working it in. The texture is sorta sticky, and not the oily smooth you'd expect but that's okay. A little works a long way! So if you're in need of trying to get your hair back on track, try it out!

Smells amazing, and leaves your hair so shiny

I love the shine that this oil leaves on my hair, though the consistency is a little thick for my preference. I really enjoy the fresh lemon scent, it makes me think of summer. This is definitely a great choice for adding a little fragrance to your hair, while adding shine. Less damaging than other hair fragrances. I do worry about the bottle being glass, oily hands and a glass bottle sound like trouble waiting to happen, so definitely be mindful of that, especially if gifting this hair oil to someone younger. I would absolutely recommend this oil, and could see myself using it for spring and summer hair care

Hi there! We are so happy to hear our hair oil is giving you those sunny summer feelings with that fresh lemon scent! 🍋✨ There is truly nothing better than a high-shine finish that smells like a dream. We also really appreciate your 'Pro Tip' about the glass bottle—oily hands and glass can definitely be a tricky duo, so thank you for looking out for our community! We love that you’ve mastered the 'less is more' approach with the rich consistency to get that perfect spring and summer glow. Pro Tip: For an extra-safe application, try dispensing the oil into your palms over a soft towel or vanity before applying it to your gorgeous locks. Stay Vivid! — The Matrix Team

This Matrix Instacure Bond Oil is so lightweight and smells so amazing. A little big goes a long way and it doesn’t leave my hair greasy. I have damaged hair from many years of having it blonde (naturally very dark brown) and this leaves my hair so shiny and soft as I’m trying to grow it out and giving it a bleaching break. The pump also makes it super easy to apply.

We are so happy to hear that our hair oil is working its magic for you and that you’re loving the packaging! ✨ We really appreciate you being so honest about the scent—it’s definitely not the 'perm solution' vibe we’re going for! 🔒 Fragrance is such a personal thing, and your feedback is super helpful as we’re always looking for ways to make our formulas as dreamy to smell as they are to use. Pro Tip: Since you love how the product works, try rubbing a tiny drop between your palms for a few seconds before applying—this can sometimes help 'bloom' the scent and soften those initial notes!

I have frizzy dry wavy hair. If I let it air dry it’s a poofy mess. This oil is a thicker oil not thin so a little goes a long way. The smell isn’t the best so if you are a smell person this isn’t for you. I used this 2 ways straightening my hair and leaving curly. When I left it straight and curly it became really oily fast leaving my hair heavy and greasy looking. Yes over time it did improve my hair a little bit. Overall would I switch from what I am using . Most likely not because what I am using is a bit cheaper and has been working fine so far. But I’m not saying don’t buy this is a good product it’s just not for me.

As someone with very fine and thinning hair, I usually stay away from leaving oils and serums. My hair also tends to be very tangly and I use a daily leave in detangler but I’m still needing something to help with damage from years of bleaching and broken ends. This product however is very lightweight, smoothing and has really helped with the overall condition of my hair. This shine is beautiful and it only takes just one pump for my thin hair. A couple bonuses are that my hair doesn’t become greasy looking and there’s no static! Nice pump bottle with a good amount of product! Definitely going to keep using this. Love Matrix
