How To Use
Wearing suitable gloves, apply to wet hair, lather and rinse well. Repeat if necessary. For maximum benefits, leave second lather on 3-5 minutes. Follow with So Silver conditioner.
Precautions: This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin (other than areas of application). If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Keep out of reach of children. Do not ingest. Wear disposable gloves when applying. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not use on sensitive or irritated scalps. Perform the following skin allergy test 48 hours before each use of this product, as allergies can develop suddenly, even though you or your client has previously used a haircolor product from this brand or another. Skin allergy test: with soap and water, wash an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your/your client's elbow. Pat dry with absorbent cotton. Apply product to test area, using an absorbent cotton-tipped applicator. Let test spot dry. You should not wash, cover or disturb for 48 hours. You should examine test area periodically over the next 48 hours. If you or your client experiences any reactions - such as redness, burning, itching, swelling skin abrasions, eruptions or irritation in or around the test area, you should not use this product or any other haircolor until after consulting a doctor."

Just what my hair needed!

I absolutely LOVE using both the shampoo and conditioner. I stopped coloring my hair and naturally embraced the grey to settle in. This product definitely helped me throughout the transition and I continue to using it. It leaves my hair shiny, soft and healthy. So happy my hair stylist recommended it. I would recommend this product to anyone who is going through the transition.

Open and Used

Purchased from Amazon today - received today but it was open used bottles (shampoo and conditioner). Now I am being charged for a "restocking Fee" to return a used product that I have not had a chance to use.

So Silver has changed. It's a far inferior product

I have used So Silver for years and have been very satisfied with it. I recently purchased the large bottle and was sorely disappointed. The shampoo looks different. No longer creamy and light blue. It is dark blue and does not lather. My hair is not the beautiful silver that got compliments. It is yellowing. My scalp is drier than before. This is not the same shampoo. I am stuck with a large bottle of shampoo that I cannot use.

Matrix So Silver neutralizer and color corrections

I got this shampoo because I have used Matrix Dark Envy (green shampoo that cancels out red tones) before in the past and it looks like they stopped making it so I decided to explore and try another color/depositing shampoo.
So Silver changed their design and in a shampoo cleanses and neutralizes unwanted brassy warmth and eliminates dull, yellow tones.
I highly recommend Matrix line as they have so many different variations and different neutralizers to choose from. It’s the best thing for your buck and keeping your hair color tones in check all while just shampooing your hair.

I like the product but the Conditioner is too dark

I used to use Redkin greydiant but it was discontinued so I am now using So Silver shampoo and Conditioner and the Conditioner is very dark purple and it is leaving a purple tint on my white hair. I am thinking of using it every other time with another hydrating shampoo so it's not so purple tinted.

At first it was great. Now I'm seeing yellowing and a lot of purple. Thought it was just me but I've had people ask if I'm coloring my hair with purple hair color. The conditioner use to be a light purple (lavender) color and is now dark purple. I'm looking for something new.

You keep saying the ingredients have changed but I have my old bottle and can see that they have. Maybe this is why people are not getting the same results. Why was it changed?

Whats happening with my So Silver?

I have been using Matrix So Silver shampoo for 20+ years. Have loved it, getting so many compliments from strangers about how beautiful my hair is ... even asked if they could touch it. My hair is thick, turned gray after chemo, my stylist recommended Matrix, and I love it. But the last couple months my hair is turning yellow with a purple tint. Would love to know why. I'm tempted to quit using but I still get compliments on my hair, even with the rainbow effect.

Gray Hair has violet tones now

I have been using So Silver for about 6 yrs on my gray hair. This late purchase from Amazon was about 8 months ago. My hairdresser told me my hair is purple underneath and when I checked I could clearly see the purple tint.
I use both So Silver Shampoo and Conditioner and I rinse thoroughly. I dont know if the
product has changed or if my hair has changes.

I usually use Redkin or Pureology because of the amount of highlights and get in my hair. I received Matrix So Silver Shampoo, Conditioner and Hairspray from BzzAgent and was pleasantly surprised. The products took any brassiness I had in my highlights out and made them look fresh. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair clean and soft, and the hairspray held my hair in place without making it hard to the touch. Great products I will be purchasing in the future

I have used matrix purple shampoos in the past and think I'll stick with this one moving forward. It actually feels moisturizing unlike many other purple shampoos and doesn't strip my hair. Pigmented but not too pigmented and gives me the silver color I want!

Works to clear the brass!!

I used the So Silver trio (conditioner, shampoo, and mask) to help treat the brass in my hair when going from blonde to brown. It started to turn a light green and this is the only product that cleared it out. I used twice a week and am so thankful for the results! Conditioned and cleaned the hair and helped repair the color damage. 5 stars for sure!

Matrix So Silver Shampoo is a classic purple shampoo for toning out unwanted yellow on blonde or natural silver or white hair. Works very well and smells nice. Use brass off that is blue-violet for even more of a cooling tone on blonde hair. I actually prefer brass off for my bleached blonde hair. But I would use & recommend either of these.

Brassy be gone!

I received this set of items as a sample to test and review. Initially, I did not like the scent as it was a scent that didn't give my hair that "clean" smell. However, after using the shampoo and rinsing my hair I noticed that my hair felt clean even if it didn't smell clean which I don't often get with toning shampoos/conditioners. I then applied the conditioner and same issue here with the scent, but it did soften my hair and helped with tangles. What I enjoyed the most was the color of my hair after I rinsed all product out of my hair. My hair color (I have blonde balayage hair) was no longer brassy. It looked like I had just gone to the salon. I don't use the hair mask during this wash but used it the next week. This worked like magic! It made my hair feel extra soft while again removing any brass from my hair. The scent still isn't doing it for me though. But I will continue to use it because of the way my hair feels and looks. Lastly, the vavoom freezing spray. A little goes a LONG way with this spray. It will hold in place. The scent (I'm big on this as you can tell) was fresh. My curls maintained in place after I curled my hair with a curling iron. However, the next day I definitely had to wash my hair as it was crusty. Overall, I would suggest these items to others to help with brassiness.

As someone who has platinum hair that on the silver side, this shampoo has been a game changer. I have tried many products to help with the upkeep of my hair color but this has been the elite. Right away when I started using this product paired with the conditioner my hair comes out the perfect color each time. It helps keep my hair color perfect how I like it. Not only does it do my color wonders, but it helps keep my hair super soft. My hair is so much softer to the touch and more manageable. Highly recommend.

I use this along with the Matrix So Silver Deep Conditioner, although I use this with every washing and the deep conditioner only 1x a week. It works really well to keep the brassy tones out of my hair. However, when I had platinum blonde hair, this particular brand wasn't strong enough. It works best for me when my hair is more of a "natural" blonde that is closer to my actual color. If your blonde was a big color change from your natural hair color, then you may not be happy with this shampoo.
