XXL Big 'N Soft Extra Hydrating & Volumizing Mousse

Before and after pictures. My hair is frizzy and flat if I don’t put any product in it. This foam like mousse doesn’t make my hair crunchy it’s still soft and moveable. This is a hand soap type foam that comes out, with a slight shampoo like scent which smells great. When applying it does almost feel soapy but dries beautifully. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, it gives it the texture that’s needed to feel the frizz back in and give it the waves it has. It doesn’t give any mousse like hard residue, everything absorbs into the hair. I like this product and will continue to use it.

This mousse has a nice texture and a pleasant and fairly light fragrance. I like this type of packaging in comparison to aerosol type metal can mousse. It leaves my hair with a good texture and bounce.

My niece tried the Matrix Food for Soft XXL Volumizing Mousse for her curls and the results are a bit mixed. On the positive side, it definitely helped her define her curls and them shape and volume without weighing her hair down. However, after the product dried, her hair was noticeably dry and less soft than expected. It may work better for someone looking more for hold and definition than moisture, but we will need to pair it with a heavier leave-in or hydrating product next time.

I’m a huge fan of the Food for Soft line of Matrix products. This one is no different. I had not previously tried a foam pump type of mousse before but I like the application. It smells great. It did not feel drying and held my waves. It is light and did not weigh down my hair.

Gives hair amazing volume without making it stiff or crunchy. My hair felt soft, hydrated and shiny all day. I love that it did not leave any sticky residue. It works great for blowouts and helps define curls.

The matrix Food for Soft XXL Volumizing Mousse made my hair feel more hydrated and softer. It’s very lightweight and did not weigh my waves down. The scent is pleasant and not overpowering. It is easy to pump out and apply to your hair.

The Matrix soft XXL volumizing mousse seems to be a good fit for me. Initially when I put it in my damp hair I was concerned with the feeling of product not being rinsed out during my shower. It was a bit much… but I rinsed my hair and reapplied with less product. My prior mousse required me to use more to achieve the same results. After styling my hair, this actually holds up for a few days with little maintenance. It’s lightweight and gives my hair natural movement, which is my daily routine. If I didn’t do a full blowout and style, letting my hair naturally dry, it’s a little crunchy. But if you finger comb your hair, it breaks it down and doesn’t flake. Overall a good product for the price.

It smells really good, however I have medium thickness of hair, and I didn’t find that it gave me much volume, whether I blew it out or let it air dry.

I grew up using mousse products, but haven't used one in years because they always left my hair looking wet and crunchy. This mousse is a lightweight foam and easy to dispense. It has a nice, fresh and clean smell. I applied it to my wet hair from the root to the tips and allowed it to air dry. I don't have a lot of natural curls, but it did leave some waves. I brushed it out and it really seemed to leave my hair with more volume and softness and didn't weigh it down. It seems like a really great product for the price point. I highly recommend this product if you have natural waves. Even if you don't, it's still really great for adding volume to otherwise flat hair.

This mousse first off has a great smell and does a great job of not being sticky on your hair. The downside is it didn’t work for my curls. I have a 4b coily hair texture with medium dense hair, and attempted to do a wash and go with the mousse, but it did not define my curls well. It didn’t add any bounce or volume to them. It just left them looking shrunk and crunchy. It also took longer for them to dry. I tried the mousse with flexi rods too, and it took forever for my hair to dry. I think this mousse is for people who dont have as tight of a curl texture and don’t have dense hair. I gave it 3 stars because the product did define my curls a little, but just not to the level that other mousses do for me. I will say that the dispenser is very easy to use and a good amount of product comes out every time.

I am always looking to try new hair products, especially products that can help me achieve a wavy hair look. This mousse was not very dense which I really liked because it didn’t weigh my hair down. The mousse has a clean and fresh scent to it that I loved! I used a diffuser to help activate the product on my roots. Overall, this product was great!

I really enjoyed using this mouse. The packaging is very practical and easy to use, which makes the application quick and mess-free. In termins of versatility, it works well for creating soft waves of adding volume to different hairstyles. The finish is natural and smooth, without makings my hair feel stiff or sticky. I also noticed good durability, since my hairstyle lasted for hours without losing shape. After washing, my hair still felt soft and hydrated, which I really liked. Overall, it’s a great product if you want volumen, movement, and a healthy look.

I love how my hair has volume after using this product. Not only is my haur soft natural but this mousse does not wear my hair down it keeps it moist and gentle. I love that it has avocado oil and doesnt irritate my hair. It keeps ny hair not frizzy and easy to wash off with no dandruff. It is great and big size for the value this id my to go mousse.

This mousse adds moisture and volume to my hair ! It has a great smell and defines my curls. It has a nice pump that makes it easy for the mousse to come out.

Really enjoying this volumizing mouse. It’s got a nice almost fruity scent, dispenses easily, and I only need one or two pumps for my short hair after a shower. It does a great job accentuating my natural waves/curls, looks natural, and doesn’t make my medium-thick hair feel crunchy, sticky, greasy, or weighed down. It still moves and feels like my hair. I also appreciate that it doesn’t leave weird residue on my hands after applying, which is a huge plus. I’ve noticed the volume most when I follow it up with a blow dry — but even without heat it makes my hair look more shaped and lively over all. Since getting it a few weeks ago, I’ve been using it pretty much every time I shower — I still have most of the bottle — and it has solidly earned a spot in my regular routine.

Has a pump dispenser so you can easily get just the right amount. I applied the product to my roots and worked into the length of damp hair, then used a diffuser to blow dry. My hair is wavy and can be frizzy at times. This product made my hair voluminous, controlled the frizz, and left it silky soft. And the smell is absolutely heavenly! Love it!

This is definitely not your average mousse. It’s has a nice scent that’s not overwhelming. It’s super lightweight and added some volume to my hair. I tried it on my natural wavy hair and straightened hair and both ways it left my hair shiny, flowy and soft. The mousse was easy to dispense and use. It dries quickly and left my hair looking amazing. I can touch my hair and not have any residue on my hands. Total win!

I haven’t used mousse in decades, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is not the same stiff and crunchy product of the past. It doesn’t make hair feel sticky or stiff. My hair has noticeably more volume, and is light and full of movement. I accidentally used too much the first time, and it did make my hair feel slightly “coated” and grainy. But I have not had that issue again with only using one pump. I have short hair and always air dry it. I’m sure this product would provide even more volume when blow drying, but it works with air drying too. It did not cause me any scalp irritation, nor did it make my hair greasy. I have a slightly oily scalp, and this did not make my hair more oily the next day. The fragrance is light and dissipates enough to not interfere with any other perfumes one might want to wear. It smells somewhat beachy to me, but not like sunscreen. It smells warm like sunshine, slightly powdery like sand, and fresh like the ocean. It makes my hair take way longer to air dry when I use this. And I have to be careful how I shape it when damp. If I let my hair just flop haphazardly it will dry that way and be impossible to reshape once dry. I am pretty picky about beauty products in general, and I can confidently say I will be using this entire bottle. I would recommend this to anyone looking to add more volume to their hair!

This styling foam smells pleasant and doesn’t make the hair sticky. If you blow-dry your hair properly, it gives incredible volume! The hold is amazing

When used at just the right time of air drying, this is silky and glides through, but apply it at the wrong time and it’s a sticky mess trying to get it brushed out. Thankfully, I usually time it right and it’s an ease to apply and blow dry after. A little amount goes a long way and it’s so light and fluffy, it reminds me of the mouse from my childhood! The scent is just enough that it’s not overpowering and I would recommend this (and so do my teens).

This mousse is really nice - I have very damaged and fine, thin hair and have to worry about products weight my hair down. This fortunately doesn’t weigh my hair down at all, which is a definitely plus! It smells amazing - just a light, fruity floral scent that’s not overpowering or overwhelming, but a subtle sweetness. It leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and nourished, which I appreciate so much because of how damaged my hair is. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it doesn’t volumize as much as I’d like it to. I have used other products that provide much more volume, however they do tend to be a bit more drying than this is. I’m going to keep playing around with it to see if there’s a secret way to apply that makes it work better, but so far it’s definitely something that makes my hair feel healthy and soft.

I have naturally waves in my hair or loose curl. This product did not help tame the frizz. It helped provide volume, but I was unable to leave my hair natural with just this product ( I can with my current product) when I straightened my hair it gave good volume but left my hair feeling a little dry at the ends. Overall, this product has a place in my hair routine when I need volume.

This Matrix mousse created really pretty waves in my hair. I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I use a mousse product daily. This Matrix mousse creates nice waves that hold well that don't dry crunchy. I didn't notice any additional volume though. I will continue to use it for nice waves with good separation.

Nice pump mousse, not too heavy or sticky. It smells really good and Matrix products are dependable. I can't say that I feel like I got more volume from ot than other products, but it could be more apparent on people with straight hair.

Tried this out a few hair washes in a row! My hair in general does not hold volume, a curl, or anything! I did see a little bit of a difference with this product and feel like I could have had better results if my blow drying game was great. I still liked the product. Didn’t make my hair feel gross in any way like mousse products can do! It helped make it look healthy.

I love the mousse. It keeps the frizzies down and smells great. My favorite part is it does not make my hair look greasy. It r also adds some volume. My hair is so thick, it would usually lay flat.

Love so much I don’t do much to my hair but straighten it so I use it kind of as a gel lol it works rlly nice I love it . I made my sister use it who has curly hair and it left her hair so nice
